TheBlueConnect.com is a NAASC Atlanta Chapter alumnae-led initiative designed to highlight women-led businesses. This online directory provides round-the-clock access to business listings—we are here when you need us.
During her tenure, NAASC Atlanta President Adrienne Lance Lucas sought to create a comprehensive directory highlighting Spelman alumnae businesses as she was constantly looking for ways to support black, women-owned businesses. A committee was formed to bring her idea to life. A pilot was launched by the newly named committee to reach out to Spelman sisters whose businesses 1) require physical presence and are located within the southern region/Georgia or 2) who operate virtually. We invite business owners who deal in both business to consumer and business to business sectors.
The directory uses proven technologies providing responsive rendering across handheld and desktop devices. Listing search is supported by a rich, intuitive set of categories that is extensible to meet future needs.
About NAASC Atlanta
Established in 1914, the Atlanta Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College is well into its second century of exemplary demonstrations of sisterhood, service, and scholarship support.
- The focus on sisterhood is and has been integral to the functioning of the Atlanta Chapter.
- Service to the community outside Spelman’s gates has long been part of the mission of the Atlanta Chapter.
- Since its earliest days, the chapter has been a generous donor, providing financial support for Spelman College and Spelman students.
Proceeds from this directory will enrich the chapter’s scholarships. Currently, the chapter supports two students each year covering 25% of tuition during the freshman year and increasing to full tuition during the student’s senior year.
